I ♥ NEW YORK

So after the Brickfish campaign, voting, and SouthPole Test shoot, I finally booked the Campaign for Fall 2010! :D I was EXTREMELY excited to participate in this. This was my first big campaign so I hope it leads to even more opportunities. I get a lot of messages from people confused as to why I didn't win the actual campaign but even though I got Runner-Up I'm still considered a winner :) Because I DID get the campaign! The Grand Prize winner Jazzlyn was also there along with 2 other girls, India, and Yahina (Pronouced Jie-Eana) from the Dominican Republic. Interestingly enough we all kind of looked slightly related. Weird right? And I was expecting everyone to be mean or stand-offish but as the day went on everyone got along & I've met some people that I hope to see again. Especially my makeup artist, she was bomb.

I had a great time. NYC is an advertisers DREAM. The lights are amazing in Time Square, advertisements scale the buildings from top to bottom lit up, and the vintage stores are endless. I even scored those red hot $80 disco pants you usually see Amber Rose wearing from American Apparel for $14. Can't get any better than that!

The shoot was about 8-9 hours all over Manhattan. I learned a lot riding the train all over New York. It's interesting how everything is split up, Manhattan, Harlem, Brooklyn, Queens, Soho.

Small Fact: Jay-Z got his name from the trains in New York. Every train line is split up by letter. The J & the Z line only went to his area in the Marcy projects and that's how he got his name. J-Z...

But anyway, I shot 2 winter looks for the fall campaign, a black and a red plaid winter jacket, and a few other shots for their new jeggings (jean leggings). They had a ripped pair I really want. Depending on the photos they choose, hopefully you'll be seeing my ad in Seventeen, Teen Vogue, Latina magazine, or maybe even Time Square :) I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

Leaving New york with some new headphones I got while
searching the vintage stores of Manhattan during my shoot
